SYMPOSIUM REPORT

The 2nd Nano-Satellite Symposium was held on March 14 at the University of Tokyo and the rest of the program on March 15 and 16 was cancelled due to the Great East Japan Earthquake stuck in north-eastern Japan.

Although the symposium has been cut short, about 80 people from 22 countries around the globe have attended on March 14 at the final presentation of Mission Idea Contest.

Among the ten finalist teams, Mr. Yuki Sato and his colleague Mr. Munetaka Kashiwa from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Advanced Technology R&D Center of Japan were awarded the top prize with 500,000 yen. While receiving the prize from Dr. Jerry Sellers, chair of the reviewer team, <<We would like to use awarded money for R&D and wish further contributing for the development of nano-satellite.>> Mr. Sato commented.
